Dell， 39， is head of Dell Computer， the second largest PC company in the United States. His company was able to defeat larger competitors(对手) and sell the computers at lower prices because they didn’t use the distributors(批发商).
While he was a first-year student at the university of Texas， Dell used $1，000 to start a business selling computer accessories(配件). He would buy parts， put them together into upgraded personal computers and sell them directly to customers(顾客). He succeeded by keeping his mind firmly on doing business instead of making money.

People found that coffee plants grew well in many parts of South America， so large coffee farms were started， and many coffee plants were grown. On these farms， coffee beans were picked from the plants by hand. Then the beans were dried and prepared for market to sell. Different coffee beans were mixed together to produce different kinds of coffee. Coffee was sent to all over the world， and soon became very popular.
